Fortes-Africa has over the years extended its involvement in outreach programmes aimed at giving back to the local community.

Our commitment involves supporting a variety of different registered charities, within the Mwanza Region. Through the donation of product and funds, our goal is to enable local communities and people to have enhanced opportunities in life.

Fortes-Africa especially supports children and young people. We sponsor several young people in their secondary and university level education.

Our support goes out to a variety of different orphanages, including:

Forever Angels http://www.foreverangels.org/

Neema Project http://neemahouse.org

Starehe Children’s Home http://www.stareheorphanage.com

We also support Touch Foundation.

The Touch Foundation is a nonprofit organization that is addressing the severe shortage of health workers in sub-Saharan Africa, using Tanzania as a base.

We believe it is unacceptable in the 21st century for people to die because they dont have access to a doctor or a nurse. Yet, in sub-Saharan this happens every day. Working in Tanzania since 2004, the Touch Foundation has trained hundreds of doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers in a rural region of the country, where the problem is most challenging. We are also strengthening existing health systems, laying the groundwork for change.

In the end, we know that these health workers will save thousands of lives: men, women and children who might otherwise die from malaria, TB, HIV and other treatable conditions.
